Privacy
Short version: we store your answers so your result has a link, and we do not sell anything to anyone.
What we store when you take a quiz
- Your answers, and the outcome they produced.
- Which quiz it was, and which version of it.
- A random identifier in a cookie called qf_anon, so your results connect to each other and build a profile.
That cookie is a random string, signed by us so it cannot be forged. It is not tied to your name, your email or your device fingerprint, and there is no account behind it unless you sign in.
When you submit a quiz we also store a one-way hash of your network address for up to two hours. It is used for one thing: to stop somebody submitting thousands of results to bend the percentages you see on a result page. We cannot turn the hash back into an address, it is never attached to your answers or your result, and it is deleted automatically.
Signing in
Signing in is optional; every quiz works without it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. The email address is what your account hangs on: results you save attach to it, and attempts made in this browser before you signed in attach to it as well, so your record survives a cleared cookie.
Friends works by email. If you add a friend, we use the address you type to find that person, and they see your email address on the request. A declined request is not announced to anyone.
Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not run advertising, so there are no ad trackers.
- We do not infer anything about your health, sexuality, race, religion or politics, and our quizzes are not designed to.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to count page views and understand which quizzes people finish. It does not use cookies and does not follow you between sites.
Result links
A result page has an unguessable address. Anyone you send it to can open it, so treat it like any other link you choose to share. Result pages are excluded from search engines.
Deleting your data
Clearing cookies for this site detaches you from your existing results. To have stored attempts deleted outright, write to hello@quizfound.com from the device that holds the cookie and we will remove them.
If you signed in, write from the Google email address on the account and we will delete the account, its attempts, and its friend connections.
